Rebecca Beam began her employment at the OK Cafe in 1967 dishwashing
and bussing tables.   In 1970, at the age of 14, she was moved to a waitress position.
4 years later, at the age of 18, she became assistant manager to her mother, Neva
Walker. In 1985 she took over the duties of managing the OK Cafe.  Business grew and
the OK Cafe found itself overflowing its existing facility. With her foresight and leader-
ship the business was moved to its current building at 806 W. 16th with 11,000
square feet. During this time the Ok Cafe added many new facets to its operations,
Paddy"s Diner, Banquets & Catering, Congregate Meal Program, Prairie Ridge
Concessions and weekly service meetings. Becky was elevated from manager to
Director of Operations as she assumed responsibility for overseeing not only these
operations but any others that may be coming on line for Patrick and Mary Jo
Randolph's enterprises. Her duties include the endless task of searching out and
hiring qualified personnel, scheduling a 40 person staff, ordering supplies, food
and product for all sites, plus coordinating & assisting patrons in all banquets and
caterings from start to finish. Becky also oversees the constant menu changes and
planning for the OK Cafe and Congregate Meal Program.  This includes
functions from
holidays to special occasions and promoting added recognition for our services and
 businesses.
Although this has been her career choice, her family has always been her number
one priority. Becky's family has a legacy in the OK Cafe, her grandmother, Blanche
Walker along with her mother, sisters and brother have shared valuable moments
and experiences working side by side with each other. Her children Greg, Derrick and
Kayla continue to help out when needed! The OK Cafe would not have made the impact
on the community without the dedication and professionalism that she has given to the
patrons, staff and owners.
